Sidebar help and other input
-
I am new to WordPress and am in need of input on the best way to accomplish arranging my content and setting up a sidebar for specific pages or categories.
This is what I am trying to accomplish:
Home page – page with a section for a flash slideshow of featured past projects, featured artist/client, flash mp3 widget, facebook/twitter links in a widget, short basic info paragraph about the company.
About page – company bio
Service page with sub-pages of services
Links page (rather than the sidebar blogroll). **Is this possible to convert blogroll to an actual page?
Company News page – company news only, no other news.
Clients/Artists page – On the theme this needs to be a drop down or pull down menu of all Clients.
On the Clients/Artists indiviual page, I need a sidebar for that individual that contains a headshot/PR image as well as a links listing to that individual clients web site, archived news listing, events listing, photo gallery page of photos that can be downloaded in hi-res, and an optional flash mp3 widget to play a few selected songs. So for example if I am on Michael Jackson’s page there would be a side bar of links for other wordpress posts or pages of his content and a link to his web site.
I’m thinking Pages for the company pages content. Posts using Categories for each client/artist.
Example Categories:
Company News
Clients
– Michael Jackson
– Prince
– Reba
– Hank Williams Jr.Now for things like client event pages or photo pages, would there be a sub category of each client called Events, Photos?
Clients
– Michael Jackson
–Photos
– Prince
–Events
–Photos
– Reba
–Events
–Photos
– Hank Williams Jr.
–Events
–PhotosOn a selected client page, Reba, the side bar would be:
[PR Image]
Events
Photo Gallery
News Archive
Official Web Site[Flash mp3 player widget]
How would I accomplish this sidebar per client page? Is there a plug-in or widget for this?
I need to be able to easily add new clients sidebar fairly easily.Any input is greatly appreciated!
