Sidebar in a weird place suddenly
-
On my blog, http://www.waformike.wordpress.com, the sidebar suddenly dropped to the bottom of the page. At the same time, a little smiley faced graphic called “g” showed up right below the banner on the right side.
Where did that come from, and why did the sidebar drop like that? None of the posts did it as far as I know.
Thanks! -
Usually this is because you’ve pasted an image or table or something that’s too wide for your theme. Here are some threads on it:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/search.php?q=SidebarIt can also happen when you paste in from Word or elsewhere on the web and accidentally include tags that make things go haywire. In that case, you’ve got to clean up all the code.
The little smiley is called Angela, and it’s on every page of all our blogs. You can’t get rid of her. WP uses her to count all the pages.

There is no images that would do that, and I checked them all to see if that was the problem. I guess I will have to go through the code. I have not pasted in from Word, but I have pasted in from a couple different sites.
Thanks -
Also, sorry I did not search first. I have my own forums, and so should have known better than to post a question without searching. :0

I cannot find anything wrong with the code at all. I deleted the posts I had made about the time it happened, but nothing changed.
Not sure what it would be….

It looks as though you have upgraded your CSS.
Your google analytics is resting at the top of your site where the original template has it at the bottom. Try moving that script code to the bottom.
Hope that helps. If not, it also appears that you have widened your sidebar. Try to keep it under 180 wide keeping in mind you have the margin and padding widths to contend with.

One way to find the offending post is to set your blog to display only one post (Options>reading> Show at most___ posts) Then you should be able to see where the problem lies. Once you isolate the post, edit it and use the brush icon on the extended write post menu and save.
(BTW – there is no www in your blog address)

Vivianpaige,
I did what you suggested, and found the offending post and found the code that was messing it up.
Thanks a LOT!!
