Sidebar in Dara theme not showing on default pages
-
I realize that it won’t show on a static home page but the support page says it will appear on pages using the default page, and it’s not showing there.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Good morning –
Thanks for writing to us. I’ve reviewed the site.
https://bookstoreromanceday.org/
On this page, you’re “sidebar” area is actually in the footer. Widgets display in the footer with this view.Look at the theme set up instructions: https://wordpress.com/theme/dara
To the right hand side there’s an example of the Dara theme with a static front page, and a footer widget area (not sidebar). This reflects what you’re seeing on bookstoreromanceday.org.Now, scroll down until you find the
Widgetsbox. There, you’ll see:The optional Sidebar, which appears on the right in blog view and on pages using the default template with the exception of a Static Homepage.

Hi! I noticed the site you listed is not using the Dara theme currently. But was able to spot the issue.
Your sidebar actually *is* showing, but you only have the search widget visible on every page.
If you check the settings for the other widgets, under visibility, you’ll find they’re set to only display on the front page. If you clear that rule for each of those widgets (by clicking the red X by the rule) and save the changes, you’ll be all set.
Also, I wanted to note you should be able to reach support directly here if you’ll log in as the upgrade owner:
I hope this helps!

Thanks, yeah, we switched to a theme that allows sidebars on the home page… Thank you for your help!

You bet. Dara does allow them too, on some page templates, but not if you have visibility turned off for the widgets. Cheers!
