sidebar issue with Freshy

  Hi,
  I have spent the past 4 hours searching for a solution to a sidebar problem with Freshy. Right now “Search, Links, Blog Roll” appear on my site. Whenever i add a widget, it removes those 3 items. They do not move down to the bottom of the page. I have tried to do the automatic HTML fix as some have suggested on previous forums. I deleted and reposted and still no solution to the problem. I actually created a test page from scratch and the same thing happens there.

  Also, I only seem to be able to activate the blog roll and the Search function is operating as a preset.

  When I look at the sidebar in dashboard mode, it shows as Sidebar 1 but there is no content within it. Shouldn’t “Search, Links, Blog Roll” not be in that position? I have succeeded in adding to the Blog Roll bu creating an internal page and shortlinking to it. Does this affect the sidebar?

  Should I add the RSS feed elsewhere?

  Is it possible to add photos to the sidebar? I have tried but it opens in another page.

  Any advice would be appreciated.

  Whenever you put a widget in the sidebar for the very first time, it wipes out the pre-set default set. Just put the widgets you want back in. The defaults do not show up when looking at the Dashboard widget page.

  Add the search widget. Add the links widget. That IS the blogroll. You can have the links widget AND a links page, or just one or the other. The RSS button is built in, I believe. But you can add your own on the Widgets page.

  Add the photo in a text widget or use the Images widget. Or use the Flickr widget.

  Also make sure to open each widget, and inside each widget configure it as per your preferences, click “save” and then click “close”.
