Sidebar Layout issue – Sidebar pushed to bottom
-
Sidebar on NettingItout.com has been pushed to bottom. Problem seems to have shown up in the past week or two (just noticed it today). It shows up in both Firefox and Explorer browsers. I have gone through my customized CSS style sheet once, to try to find the problem – so far no luck. The problem seems to be in the sidebar, as I have changed to showing one post per page, and the problem shows up on every page. Any ideas? I would appreciate any help. My blog is on wordpress.com. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You have quite a few missing ending tags in your blog.
Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and click “save changes.”
Next open each page on your main blog page, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “update post. WordPress should automatically correct any HTML issues in the posts and fix the issue.

Sacredpath, I appreciate your help here (as you have helped before!). In fact, I have had checked right along the option “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”. So I unchecked, and rechecked it, and made a minor adjustment to each post and republished. Alas, the problem persists. I checked for errors in w3C, and the only errors found appear to be in the Sandbox template, rather than in any of my posts, and do appear to me to be relevant to what I have just seen happen sometime within the past 2 weeks to my blog layout. I cannot see where I have any oversized photos that would cause the problem. I have looked through the Forum for any other relevant postings that might shed some light o the issue.

Sacredpath, well it appears now, a few minutes later, that the problem has indeed resolved itself, and my blog is back to normal. So I appreciate very much your helpful input!!

You’re welcome.
One reason it might have taken a bit for the change to appear could have been a slow invisible proxy server somewhere between you and wordpress, or it could have been that your browser was pulling a cached version of the page.
I just checked the W3C report again and the issues I saw that were likely causing problems are gone. As far as issues with Sandbox, I’m using it on one of my blogs here and as long as I don’t have a video or soundcloud player inserted into a post, it passes validation 100%, so the theme itself is completely clean.
The W3C errors regarding br tags seem all to be in the text widgets. You need to check your text widgets and change the depreciated
<br />tags you are using to<br />(note the space between the “r” and the ” / ” ). -
Oops, it automatically converted the old br tag. < br > without the spaces is what you are using.
