Sidebar moved to the bottom of the page

  My sidebar moved to the bottom again. This happened before and with help from previous discussions in the forum I was able to fix it.

  I tried checking the code for the <div>, I also tried checking each individual post and couldn’t find the culprit. I assumed one of my images was too large.

  The strange thing is, I know it was in the proper place when I was on my mac at home reviewing it on Safari. Now I am on IE. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.

  Any suggestions?

  We won’t be able to find the culprit either without a link to the blog in question. The webpage linked to your nick doesn’t seem to work.

  Which version of IE are you using?

  Can’t test things in IE at the moment, but I know that Simpla behaves strangely with regard to images plus text, and the behavior is different from browser to browser. In Firefox and Safari your sidebar is in place, but in Safari the images spill past the main column if you don’t zoom in. So the problem probably has to do with your images. Try to downscale them to no wider than 330px and see what happens.

  I’m working on IE 6.0 at the office and that seems to be the only
  place my sidebar doesn’t show.

  When I preview a post (on Safari at home) I can tell if the
  images overlap the sidebar and then I downsize them.

  How do I make sure the image is no wider than 330px?

  IE 6 is obsolete: even the official IE page advises abandoning it.

  For images already inserted in posts, go to the post editor (visual), click on the image, click the mountain icon that shows up, click Advanced Settings, change the width number to 330 and delete the height number, click Update, click Update post.

  (You can do the same thing faster by changing the code directly in the html editor, if you’re not afraid of that.)

  For new images: go to Settings>Media, set 330 as your “Large Size” maximum width, click Save Changes; then use the Large option when uploading and inserting.
