Hi @allhumanhere!
I’ve pulled up your site and I see what you mean – Harmonic is hiding the sidebar on smaller screens like tablets and phones.
I’m opening a report now to look into whether this was an intentional design decision, or if it’s a bug that can be addressed :)

Hi @allhumanhere,
I’ve looked through the Harmonic theme, and it looks like it indeed is intentional that the sidebar is hidden on smaller screens, like iPads and mobile devices.
Unfortunately, it’s not something that can be changed in the theme without having a negative impact on other users.
This is not a common thing for most themes to do, so if it’s very important to have display on small screens, it might be best to switch themes. There are a number of other options that will display the sidebar on small screens: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sort/free/
Just let us know if you have any questions about the above, or if you run into anything else we can assist with!

Thank you all.
Very helpful. I got round some of this by putting key widgets in my Welcome Page footer on the front page.
Ultimately though, I may need sidebar functionality.
If anyone has recommendations of which free themes can offer this on mobiles and tablets, do let me know!
Thanks again. -
Hi again
I have gone over to Lodestar. Much better.
One question. How do I just get my blog in navigation without it showing Category: Blog at the top of the page?
I want ‘Blog’ to be in the menu, but I don’t want to have a category, just for Blog to show all my blog posts, if that makes sense… -
Glad to hear Lodestar is working for you :)
Rather than using a Category Page, you can link directly to your blog by setting up a Posts Page.
– Create a page named Blog
– Use My Site > Customize > Static Front Page to set your Posts Page to be that new Blog page
– Use My Site > Customize > Menus to remove the current Blog entry from the menu, and replace it with the page you’ve made.If you run into any trouble let us kno (for new questions after this one, it will be better to open a new thread)
