Sidebar not showing on my pages

  Hi, I have just followed the instructions on this page : http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
  but, in spite of saving the widget in the main side bar section, it doesn’t show. I have been back to make sure all my pages are ordered (I think) but it still isn’t working……having said that, I DID manage to get a Footer 1 widget to show on the bottom left of my site page.
  Could you tell me where I’m going wrong please?

  Hi there,
  On Twenty Eleven there is no sidebar on single posts.

  In the Twenty Eleven theme, you’ll need to set each page to use the Sidebar Template. You can do this from the Page Attributes box to the right when writing or editing any page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/#template
