sidebar now at bottom

@traderjanki
Did this happen only after your most recent post?There is some real strange looking things going on with that first post and I’m not sure what is going on with it. I would suggest doing it over. When you past in the text from word, on the extended tool bar, use the “paste as text” icon (little “T” on the icon). Then go back and put in the images.
After you have put in the images and gotten everything as you wish, and before publishing it, use the “clean up messy code again” to make sure the image html is not messed up.
I wish I had a better solution, but I don’t.

In firebug, I’m seeing the image href in there twice which is really weird. I’ve looked at some of mine and it’s only in there once, so it isn’t some sort of normal strangeness.
I see this:
<p><a title="dscn2887.jpg" href="http://traderjanki.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/dscn2887.jpg"/></p>And then this right below it:
style="text-align: center;"> <a title="dscn2887.jpg" href="http://traderjanki.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/dscn2887.jpg"> <img width="316" height="244" alt="dscn2887.jpg" src="http://traderjanki.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/dscn2887.jpg?w=316&h=244"/> </a> -
@tsp: Yeah, there is something with the images. When I turned all images off using the Web Developer toolbar on Firefox, the sidebar came back to it’s normal position. There’s definitely something fishy in there.

Oh wait, I was on the wrong page. Removing the images didn’t make any difference, the sidebar is still at the bottom.
-
Yeah, it’s the same clear down through “the fruit lunch box”. “Books and pie” is OK though.
These posts need to be redone or worked over in code view to remove the extraneous href’s:
– bombay masala at pizzeria
– would you like a coke with that dosa?
– khichdi is a festival food
– the fruit lunch box -
hey guys,
thank you both. let me try your solutions out and see what happens. i’ll update here, thanks again!

Great! The option to mark this thread as resolved is at the top of the page so please do the needful.

Since your posts are full of (quite good-looking) photos, I would restrain the number of posts per page to 5 or even less. Even though I have a really fast DSL connection, your page takes pretty long to load. If you are composing your posts in Word, you should stop. It really includes code that will mess up any blog page.

I agree with claudecf – the pages are slow to load. Have you optimized your images before posting? http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/

hi claudecf and vivianpaige,
thanks for the suggestions. thesacredpath told me to optimize my images and i have picasa so i’ll be optimizing them from now on. and i’ll stop writing in word- i didn’t know there was code that messed things up before.

Reducing the number of posts on your front page so it loads faster is done here -> Options -> Reading (change the number of posts and click “Update Options”)
Happy Blogging! :)
