Sidebar now unavailable

    I switched to a new theme only to find out my sidebar did not appear on my blog anymore. So, I went to “Widgets” to investigate.

    On the right side (where active widgets should normally appear), all my familiar widgets are correctly listed, though with this theme they are listed under a “Footer” instead of a sidebar. Seeing them there would seem to indicate that all is well.

    But on the left side they also appear underneath this scary message:
    Inactive Sidebar (not used)
    This sidebar is no longer available and does not show anywhere on your site. Remove each of the widgets below to fully remove this inactive sidebar.

    Please help with this silly and unhappy turn of events!!!

    The Wu Wei theme does not have a sidebar widget area so all your widgets will have to go in the footer. If you really want a sidebar for widgets you should pick a theme that includes this as an option – have a look at the filters on the theme showcase to see what is available.
