Sidebar position

Hi, just bought a GoDaddy WordPress blog hosting account recently–my site is http://www.rappaportretailreport.com.

I’m using the classic WordPress theme, have configured it as best I can to fit my envisioned layout. My biggest problem is the positioning of the sidebar. If you visit my site and change the size of your browser, you’ll see that the sidebar follows the right side of the browser, and ends up covering the main content of the site. What can I do to make the sidebar positioning fixed and not have it be variable to the size of the window browser? Is there a way I can change the code? I’m not sure if this is a characteristic built into the classic theme that I can’t fix. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much!
