Sidebar problems

  On my sidebar with the Contempt theme, the first few widgets have the blue bar across with the heading in white letters.

  Problem 1: Some of the headings are in black letters which is hard to read with the blue background. The ones with black letters are widgets I clicked and added — I didn’t code them. How can I make all the headings consistent?

  Problem 2: After a long set of buttons (in a widget titled “links”), the widgets below look completely different — no blue heading like the rest, no box.

  Problem 3: In that long “links” widget, it looks like there is a background behind or box around the first five buttons, yet there are several more buttons below. I don’t see anything in the coding to make if different.

  Problem 4: Below the sidebar, the background of my blog is gray. Any way to rectify that?

  I see only the delicious widget with a black title and that appears to be how the widget was designed. You can contact staff and ask them to change that since it does look very inconsistent with the other widgets.

  The ones without the blue bar at the top are “text” widgets that you have added. They will not have the blue bar unless you add a title to them. You can get the blue bar without any text in it by adding a single space to the title field when you edit the widget.

  In your posts, you have a lot of images that are too wide for the available area which can cause issues and possibly break the theme. The maximum image width in the post area for Contempt is 440px: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/

  Some of your images in the sidebar are too wide for the available area. You need to edit those images so that they do not overlap the border of the widgets. This can cause issues in some browsers and cause the blog elements to break and look funny, or in some cases send your sidebar down to the bottom of your blog.

  I don’t see a grey background below your widgets, I see the same background color as in the post area. There is a grey area at the footer which is how the theme is designed. Again, some browsers to not respond kindly to the issues I mentioned above and can make things look really strange and broken. Fix the image issues and see if things do not return to normal for you.
