The theme you are using has options for how many sidebars you want to display. There are 4 layouts you can choose from

Please see here > Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options

hi timethief sorry am just trying out a diff theme i’ll go back to the onecausing the problem

Also note that all themes have a default display of suggested sidebar contents (widgets). This default display disappears completely when you override the default display the first time you choose to remove a widget here > Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets

What to do? Simply go here and choose all the widgets you wish to display and place them in your sidebar > Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets

The theme is not a problem. I have it up on my test blog. I think the problem is that you aren’t accustomed to using wordpress.com software. Please read my comment immediately above.

Also know that once you have activated a theme it will no longer be among the themes to select because it’s already displaying on the blog.

i know but my sidebar is stuck at bottom

I suspect that that you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor. Please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

The reason your sidebar has fallen and is displaying below your posts is either due to copying and pasting or It can also be a result of importing text containing invalid HTML. Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.

Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.

If it’s not, then look for an open HTML tag and close it. Check your blog again and see if it is back to normal. If it’s still “messed up” then open the next post and do the same thing post by post until it goes back to normal.

Best wishes with your blog. :)

i have moved to the problematic theme i was playing with the translation html code that you have up but deleted the box and thats when this issuse started

  • Unknown's avatar

ok will re that but i only have one post

  • Unknown's avatar

Now you have Modularity Lite up. Is that is the theme we are talking about? I’m asking because this is becoming cyclic communication. :( This is not likely to be a theme issue at all.

I made it extremely clear from the outset that this code was to be displayed on a static PAGE and not in a text widget. Every person who has simply replaced my blog URL their own blog’s URL in the Google Translation code and not mucked with that code has it displaying properly on a static PAGE in 3 columns.

Is that where you went wrong? If so the food news is that deleting that widget with any mucked up code in it will return the theme to normal display.

LOL “food news” above was meant to be “good news” – I’m hungry :D

  • Unknown's avatar

yes this is the theme i was talking about . i did put in my own blog url and did not mess the code but i tried it in sidebar and footers but it did not look right so i deleted it and no my sidebar is stuck at the bottom?
so i deleted all my widgets and have tried what you sugested above but no luck?

i was meant to order my fodd 4 hers ago biut be trying to fix this blog

  • Unknown's avatar

    oops food four hours ago

  • Unknown's avatar

Modularity Lite has: 1 right hand sidebar and in addition it has 4 footer widgets
Sidebars and footers cannot display null content. If you want the sidebar to display something try putting a widget in it please.
