Sidebar Question
-
I’d like to have a heading in my sidebar that says “Books I’m Currently Reading” and then be able to list them (just like I list links under my “Blogroll”). Is it possible to do something like this? I’m a beginner.

Yes, you can easily do that. You need to use a text widget for this.
Title it as “Books I’m currently reading”. Then you can include the image and link like this:
<a href="url"><img src="url"></a> <br>You need to put the link for the book description in the
<a href>tag and the link for the image of the book in the<img src>tag. If you’re listing more than one book, then you can use this tag for each book seperately. Also, put a line break after each book’s description using the<br>tag. Make sure that the image url (img src) ends with a .jpeg or a .gif etc. It’s not necessary to include the picture. Anything that suits you better. Take a look at my sidebar. -

Is it an image you own, like one you’ve uploaded to WordPress? If it is go to Dashboard > Manage > Uploads, select the image and you can copy the image url there. If it’s not you’ll need to find the image somewhere online, save it and upload it to WordPress. Make sure it’s a standard image, though, not a special or copyrighted one. Hope that helps.
