Sidebar text and links

  I am using the default Twenty Fifteen theme and I am trying to put text and links in the sidebar.

  Why does the Title in the text widget not appear along with the text content in the sidebar?

  I want to post links to PDF documents in the library with descriptive text on the sidebar. But the text widget does not allow links. The links widget is meant for a blogroll. Should I use a drop down menu?

  Indeed it should.

  But the text widget does not allow links.

  The text widget does allow links. See the Text Widget Links support page.

  The links widget is meant for a blogroll.

  It’s not restricted to blogroll duty only. You may add other links categories, and even remove the blogroll category (as I typically do).

  Should I use a drop down menu?

  A custom menu could certainly do the job.
