Sidebar Widget

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to create a sidebar for the recent posts in our blog.
When I go onto the pages section and click on the page I want to place the sidebar on, there is the new box that is supposed to have one single pulldown menu of which sidebar I’d like to post on that page but for me it has like 12 different pulldown menus saying, header1, header2, header 3, and so on…
So basically, I have my sidebar created with the widgets inside of it but I am unable to assign it to the right side of my page like I’d like to. Why do I have so many pulldown menus with all these different options?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    hi,

“Why do I have so many pulldown menus with all these different options?”

A screenshot of what you are seeing above would be helpful if you can send one.

    Take a Screenshot

Please upload it to your Media Library, then paste the link here so we can take a look.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Kosiew,

    Thanks for you response.
Here is a short link to my screen shot: https://wp.me/a7jVwk-1rl
As you can see there are a ton of drop downs in the side bar section. I did not set up this site originally so I am not sure why there are so many drop downs with so many different names. I just want to create a sidebar on my blog page only that shows the recent posts and an archive by month if possible.

    thanks,

    Brian

    hi,

This is what my widgets screen look like:

    Can you try this :
    1. switch to another theme
    2. check out the widgets contained in the sidebar
    take a screenshot

    3. switch back to Gateway theme
check out the widgets contained in the sidebar
Do all those widgets (of your original screenshot) still appear within the sidebar ?
