sidebar/ widget area

Is there a possibility to not have the widget-sidebar showing in Expound theme when you click through on posts, but only on my first page?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi cyclingdutchgirl,
There isn’t a quick fix to disable the entire sidebar on single-post pages, but you can still achieve the same effect by tweaking your widgets’ visibility settings.
In each widget visibility setting, you can choose to hide the widget whenever a specific tag is used. So, if there’s a tag that appears in all (or most) of your posts, you could choose it and the widget won’t show on any of those posts. If you add this visibility rule to all your widgets, your sidebar will effectively disappear from these posts.
If you don’t have a shared tag, you can either create one (which, depending on your number of posts, can be more or less time-consuming), or choose a different parameter that covers big chunks of your posts — date, category, etc. — and soon enough, all your posts will be covered.
You can find more information on widget visibility here.
Let me know if this helps — or if you have any other questions!

Great!
I’m gonna be working with it right away :)
Thanks for your help, that’s exactly what I was after. There is one more question, is there something like a ‘floating widget area’ that looks like it hovers over the page and stays on screen as you scroll down?

Glad I could help!
As for your new question, our themes don’t currently support “floating” widget areas.
If it’s really crucial for you to have certain widgets visible at all times, you could limit the number of posts that appear on your homepage, requiring visitors to go to the next page for more. It’s a tradeoff, of course — it really depends on your priorities.

One more question,
I just made widgets invisible in a few categories. But now they’re also not showing on a few pages that don’t fall in those categories.
How would I fix that? -
Could you please give me some examples of pages that no longer show the widgets? It’ll be easier to sort out that way.
Thanks!

Yes, my ‘About’, ‘History’ (but not the sub-pages) ‘Route’ (again not the sub-pages). ‘Sponsors’ and ‘contact’ are not showing the widgets.
While ‘links’, ‘Media’, ‘Video’s’ and ‘Blog’ are still showing the widgets (together with all the sub-pages).
I can’t see what I’ve done differently. -
Thanks for the information — that really helps. Our team is currently looking at what might be causing this issue, and we’ll report back to you once we have more information.
Thanks for your patience in the meantime!
