if you want to make an ‘about’ widget use a text widget. there is no such thing as an ‘about’ widget, it’s all self-made with a text widget. you can also opt to write your about in a page, which is the common thing to do.

Hey
Thanks a million but one think i dont understand, what does opt mean?! I am sorry i really dont get it and i can do other stuff but i dont know how to do this..
Thank you for your help.

opt just means “choose”.
When you write, you have a little tab at the top of the box that lets you choose Write Post or Write Page. If you want an About Page you can click Write Page and then type as usual and it’ll publish as a separate part of your blog, away from the regular posts but with a link in your sidebar showing the title, so make sure you call it something like “About Me” or whatever.
The other method Sulz suggests is making a text widget for your sidebar. Go to Presentations —-> Sidebar Widgets and scroll down to the bottom. There’s a little box where you choose the number of text widgets you want; right now you only want one, so choose that. Then in the box you’ll have a text widget. Click on that and drag it into your sidebar wherever you want it to go. Then click on it again and it should open up so you can edit it. Then you just type in your About information. This is best for short About stuff; use the Page method if you’ve got a lot to say.

Hey
I was wondering if i can create different sidebar widgets to my “About” page than those in the Home page?!!
Thank you all for your help

why not? it’s your blog you can do whatever you like. use a text widget for that purpose.

Actually I think they’re asking about having different sidebars on different pages within their blog.
Afraid you can’t. The way you set your sidebar is blog wide.

Help please! In raincoaster’s explanation above, and in the faq, it gives the following instructions.
Go to Presentations —-> Sidebar Widgets and scroll down to the bottom.
But under my Presentations, it only shows options for Themes, Extras and Edit CSS.. No sub-menu for Sidebar Widgets…
:-(

That’s because the theme you’ve chosen doesn’t allow widgets. Some don’t. If you pick a different one, they’ll probably show up because most themes are widget-enabled. The ones that aren’t were designed by control freaks and no amount of begging will convince them to redesign for widgets.
