Sidebar widgets on main page only?
-
I was wondering if there is a way to have your widgets on your main/start up page only. Is there a way to have your other pages without the sidebar? Am I missing the obvious? I would like my other pages to have that clean non cluttered look and was wondering if there is a theme that allows me to have that
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not with Vigilance there is not unless you have some CSS editing experience and get the CSS upgrade.
There are a number of themes here though that have “no-sidebar” page templates. In those themes, you edit your pages and in the “attributes” module select the “no-sidebar” template from the pulldown and then update your page.

Coraline, Elegant Grunge and Twenty Ten are three that have the no-sidebar page templates.

See my comment above. In addition there are some themes that by design do not show the sidebar on static pages. See this post by Panos: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/11/12/widgets-on-pages-or-single-posts/ .

See the “special case” section of his post. There are more than what I have mentioned above.
Bueno, Coraline, Enterprise, Monochrome, Motion, Spectrum, Structure, Twenty Ten, Vostok, zBench: sidebar/bottombar can be deactivated or activated on any static page (Page editor > Attributes module > Template).

You’re welcome and I hope you found a theme that will work for you and you are happy with.
