Sidebars aren't showing up in my Widget Manager (Awaken Theme)
-
I can’t update the links in a sidebar on the right-hand side of my page:
TheMovieGuys.net
I go to my Dashboard and go to Appearance – Widgets and I’m supposed to be able (and have for eleven years) to drag widgets into the sidebars where I want them and modify them. The sidebars aren’t appearing to allow me to do this.
When I click “Customize” to attempt it that way, that page is just a handful of jumbled text now and no longer is the usable format it used to be.
The theme is updated to current. Thoughts?
Thanx in advance.

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?
-
Thanks for that and sorry we missed that in your original post!
Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.
You’ll need to reach out to the theme developer ThemezHut in order to get help with your sidebar issue. Since their current theme version is 2.2.5 and you’re using 2.1.2, you might need to update your theme as it might not be 100% compatible with modern versions of WordPress – especially since the block sidebar widget editor is somewhat new.
If you still have trouble or if the theme developer is unable to help, please reach out to the WordPress community for guidance:

I hope that helps!

Hello and thanks for getting back.
In the WordPress dashboard, I’m not being given the option of updating the Theme. In fact, my Updates screen is telling me my theme, plugins and WordPress itself are all updated.
I received another response saying that “after WordPress changed the widget area in the 5.8 version there are still few issues remaining with it. So they introduced the Classic Widgets Plugin to be used with sites that the new widget area is not working properly. Please install the plugin and you will be able to edit widgets in the old way without any issue.”
I am using Classic Widgets and it’s been working great…until now.
Is there any other advice you have knowing this?
Thanx

Please contact ThemezHut directly about this. Or if you think the issue might be with the Classic Widgets plugin, you can try their support instead.
But as we make neither that plugin nor your theme, we have no control over how they work, so we’re not able to help with this on our end :)
