Sidebars Suddenly Not Working
-
Hello All – On thursday, i noticed that my website was messed up. I was running the excellent Black Leterhead theme by Ulysses Ronquillo and suddenly the sidebars had disappeared. I tried to switch themes and switch back. That did not work. Eventually I found another suitable theme that I thought would do the job. Now on my website, the sidebar has reappeared but it is jumbled at the bottom of the page. When i switch to different themes, the same thing happens – the sidebar(s) get thrown to the bottom of the page. I recently stalled WordPress 2.3.3 on my hosted domain, http://www.thumbbutlergaming.com, might that have something to do with it? Any help would be great… i just want my sidebars and theme back as they were before..

Can you give us a link to the WordPress.com website? Hard to guess what’s going on. We can’t do anything about your independent WP install here; that support is at WordPress.org.

@uberhim
You have images in your main page that are too wide for the post area on the theme you are using (460px wide max): http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/ .@internationaljournalist
I see no problems with your blog in IE7 or FF on Windows, or FF or Safari on Mac. -
thesacredpath – I have removed the images wider than 460px from my page, but I still have the sidebar on the bottom. Any other ideas?

Set your blog to display 1 post per page (options > reading) and then go through the posts one at a time to see which is causing the issue. It could be an open div tag or something like that. If you have pasted something off of the web, that can bring in code that can cause issues on your blog.

thesacredpath – I’ve fixed it. For some reason it was caused by the “jump” button on one of my posts. I tried centering it, and it caused everything to go haywire.
Thanks for your help.
