Sidekick theme – featured image panoramic
-
Hi, I am new to wordpress. I am using the sidekick theme and am trying to insert a panoramic featured image in my static home page. After setting the featured image, updating, no photo appears. I’ve tried several different photos and have tried editing the aspect ratio in the set featured image box or I’ve tried an image that had the 3-1 ratio. The width of the photos is at least 1500 px.
My blog is http://pinetreelane.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy! I’m not seeing a Featured Image attached to your Home page. Can you try re-uploading and setting the Featured Image so we can troubleshoot this?

Hi, please forgive my ignorance. I’ve gone to my media library and selected HOME for one of my images and then tried to set it as the featured image. Is that what you mean? Thanks for your help.

Ahh, nope, I should have linked to this in my original comment. Here are instructions for setting a Featured Image. Give that a try and see if it clears up the confusion.

Thank you. I have read them and still can’t get results. I’ve tried many different photos of different sizes thinking that will help but it doesn’t.

Featured images must be at least 1500 wide and have an aspect ratio of 3×1 (width x height)
That is stated here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sidekick/This is the guide for setting a featured image on any theme http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image
If you don’t see the Featured Image module on your Add New or Edit Post page, please make sure you’ve selected Featured Image in your Screen Options. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options
