I’ve tried many times to sign in to comment in the Vaught’s Views blog and I can’t. The last password I recall doesn’t work and when I try to reset I never get the promised emails back, the ones with the temp PW that will allow me to sign in.

Have you tried to check your junk mail folder ? just in case, it went in there.
If you still don’t receive the email to reset your password, it’s possible that you didn’t use the correct email address attached to your account. You can complete account recovery form to get your account back.

You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

I am beaten but not defeated! As old Gen Mac said, “I shall return”. Gotta admit tho that this Word Press mess is the wierdest that I’ve run into yet—and we all know there are some real doozies out in the ether of the Internet. Reckon I’ll throw a big party when I (as the Doctor’s song says) “find what I’ve been looking for”.
