sign up a user that has been previously been deleted using the same email address

    We cancelled a user on WordPress because of block editor issues. We have waited over 30 days and they have tried to sign up again but the message they are getting when trying to register with the same email address is ‘chose a different email address – this one is not available’. Online seems to suggest the email address can be used again
    When they tried to login it says the user does not exist so it has definitely been deleted.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    @lizbrown70 could you let us know what the email address is so we can look for more information?

    They can also contact support directly by responding to the email we sent when they closed their account.

    I’m afraid the email that was sent when the account was closed has been deleted.

    The email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    You should be able to use that email address to create a new WordPress.com account.

    Please clear your browser cache, or check if it works if you use a different browser.

    We still can’t sign up using the email address.

    We have cleared the browser cache. Tried it on a different pc and internet connection but still get the same message.

    That is really strange. The old account’s info has been deleted from our system, and the email is no longer connected to it, so you should be able to use it.

    I do see there’s a pending invite to that email from your site to be an admin. Please try deleting that invite at https://wordpress.com/people/invites/pandiers.wordpress.com/454da16137d0973fcfac509d4ce0fcc6, and then try creating the new account does that work?

    Else please try the following for me: In an incognito browser window go to https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword and try requesting a password reset using that email.

    Let me know whether or not you receive that email. If there’s somehow an account associated with that email, we might be able to confirm it this way.
