Sign up Popup Box
-
It’s not a problem, more of a question?
Is it possible to have a ‘signup’ popup box on my frontpage? I’ve seen it on others and wondering if WordPress.com allows that feature.
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! The signup popup currently appears for non-WordPress.com users, or users not currently signed into WordPress.com. Please see the link below to take a look at how this functions:

There is also a “Follow” tab available to all WordPress.com users at the top of your blog, and you can add Follow widgets to your sidebar. However, if you’re actually hoping for a secondary pop-up window, that function requires script that isn’t allowed on WordPress.com-hosted sites. If it’s important to you that your site behaves in this manner, you may want to consider moving to a self-hosted version of WordPress on an outside server. If you are self-hosted, there are plugins you can install to create popups.
If you’re interested in learning the differences between hosting your site here, with WordPress.com, and self-hosting via WordPress.org, take a look at this link:
Let me know if you have any questions at all. Wishing you the best!

Gutted! I really wanna stay with WordPress.com if I’m honest. It’s not massively important to have the popup window. Just wondered. Thanks for your reply, I think i’ll stick with WordPress.com as I’ve self hosted in the past and the tech trouble I can’t be bothered with.
Thanks

I may be biased (ok, I’m biased), but one of the major benefits of hosting with WordPress.com is that you *don’t* have to deal with all the tech issue on your own. Sorry we couldn’t help with the popup box, but do let me know if I can assist in any other way. Thanks!
