  I just want to sign up for a free account because of a training I am taking. I know nothing about this, so – do I really need a domain? If so, must I use the domain I currently have dedicated to my business only, or can I get another without paying an extra fee?

  You can get a free site by using this link. This will give you a site with a subdomain such as example.wordpress.com

  https://wordpress.com/free/

  You do not need to use your current domain.

  When getting your free account be sure to choose the skip domain purchase option.
