signing up with wordpress

  When I signed up with wordpress my address is not XXXXX.com but XXXXXwordpress.com
  how do i get to just XXXXX.com I do not want wordpress in my address line.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello,

  When you sign up with WordPress.com the site comes with a free address such as XXXXX.wordpress.com https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  If you would like a custom domain you would need to upgrade your site to a WordPress plan https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Or if you already own a domain you would like to use you can:

  • Transfer the domain – https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
  • Map the  domain – http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  A correction to my previous post:

  If you have a upgraded your WordPress.com site and already own a domain you can transfer and map domains.

  You must have the upgrade to be able to use domain’s you already own.
