simple business theme, no blog posts

thank you for your help ahead of time. im looking for a simple business theme with a home page, about me, services offered and contact pages. all of the themes i see of some type of blog related material on them. is there a way to eliminate those features? for some

Yes. Use a Custom Menu and hide the blog posts page. Set the blog to open on a static page instead.

is that the easiest way? should pay for a premium theme? i am little slow getting started sometimes, but once I do, i can usually figure it out.

Do not pay for ANY upgrades, let alone a premium theme, for a month or so after you start. You need to tinker first and see if this is the right host for you.
There are plenty of good-looking themes that are not premium. The only upgrade I recommend everyone start with is Custom Domain. Then if you move the blog elsewhere, all your readers can follow you to the new destination and so does your google ranking.
