Simple grid type layout with iFrames
-
I’m looking for a simple grid-type layout where each block/widget is an iFrame to pull in an external website.
To give you the real world use case: I need to monitor a dozen or so websites regularly and I would like to know, at a glance, if any of them are down or showing some glaring bug that is noticeable defect. I know about all sorts of services that I can have alert me if the site is down, but I would like to approach this from a visual standpoint.
Ideally, it would look something like this really awesome mock up I made in 30seconds ;)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Adam,
Unfortunately iframe elements can’t be used here at WordPress.com beacause all of the millions of user sites run on the same platform and any security risk from one site could cause problems for everyone else. You could do something with a self-hosted WordPress.org install though.

Hallluke,
Thanks for the timely reply! Great introduction to the forums here…like I said, this is new to me, and actually realized that I was posting on .com and not .org (didn’t realize I had this blog until I saw the link in the above content).
Now, would you have any ideas for my self-hosted site since I have .org installed?
FWIW, I tried Google sites just to get something up quickly but it’s VERY limited and iframes only work in Safari.
Here it is:
