Simple, low-cost, online payment system in Australia

We have a small olive grove in Victoria, Australia – and a basic wordpress.com website. We want to move to a simple online payment system – preferably just using direct electronic funds transfer (EFT). And Australia Post offers POLI which does that through the major Australian banks – so the customer can ‘see’ and control the payment in the same way he uses for a payment through his banking website. POLI also seems to offer the same token-based security used with the banking websites.
Questions:
1. Will POLI work with our wordpress.com site
2. How much do we need to upgrade our wordpress account to make it work?
3. If POLI will not work what is the simplest available solution – preferably avoiding card accounts
4. [While we like Paypal it appears to lead to some unnecessary problems in Australia – linked to inability to transmit both delivery and billing addresses and to check card security numbers and card account addresses.]Would be grateful for any help – particularly from Australian users.

The functionality you need requires installing some kind of payment gateway plugin. Unfortunately, plugins are not allowed here on WordPress.com for security reasons.
If PayPal is not an option, I advise setting up a self-hosted WordPress site. The following support document explains the difference: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Once you have a self-hosted site, you’ll be able to install plugins. I recommend using the WooCommerce plugin. It has many extensions that you can add and direct bank transfer is a built-in option. Please visit https://woocommerce.com/ for more information.
