Simple set up advice, please!

  I am so confused, I don’t know enough to ask a question. I don’t understand the terms, how to get set up. I have a login name and paid for lncoates.com as opposed to lncoates.wordpress.com, but apparently I still have the latter. Your 1000-foot long tutorial isn’t helpful. I can get to my dashboard, but can’t even discover how to download a picture. I really need some SIMPLE advice.

  Hi Lynne,

  It looks like your domain mapping is working as I am able to view your site at lncoates.com:

  

  Please note that a domain is similar to a mailing address – it’s just an address to find all your site’s content, not the actual content itself. Also, the domain: lncoates.wordpress.com will never delete, which is actually a good thing in case you decide to get rid of your domain: lncoates.com or it expires because then all your content will still be viewable at lncoates.wordpress.com.

  As for downloading an image, do you mean uploading an image? You can download most images by right-clicking the image and selecting Save Image As…

  As for uploading an image to your posts, please go in to create a new post at Posts > Add new in your Dashboard. Click Add Media and you should be able to add it there. You can read more about this here:
