Simple writing/editing functions laborious to achieve

    So, I’m simply trying to write a blog post in WordPress. And I have to ask myself…

    Why is it so hard to highlight a portion of text in order to create a link? Why is it so hard to place my cursor in an exact spot of text? Why do I need to click twice in order… to do anything?

    This is not, specifically, a WordPress problem, but it’s very noticeable in WordPress. I find these basic mouse-function (for lack of a better term) problems everywhere on the Internet. Am I nuts, or are Internet protocols changing?

    I’ve tried researching the issue, but can’t find anything that speaks to my concerns.

    Thus, I turn to the more technical members of the WordPress Community — does anyone know whats going on?

    Hi @alajoann, wow, sorry you’re having trouble! I’m wondering if it could be an issue with your mouse our or your browser perhaps. It shouldn’t be too difficult to highlight text, for example.

    What’s happening right now when you try to highlight it?

    Also, can you clarify which browser you’re using currently, and does this same issue happen in other browsers, too?

    What operating system do you use?
