Since 22nd July update I am not able to see any Reblog button
-
That means I see only two buttons at the bottom of a post. Could you please look into this ASAP.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
If you mean directly on your site? I see the Reblog button both on your single post and in the Admin Bar. I used Chrome 43 on a Win7Pro PC to look at your site.
If you don’t see the Reblog button on your site, please let us know which browser and version you are using. http://whatbrowser.org/
If you mean in the Reader Refresh rolled out recently, the reblog button is indeed currently missing from blogs you follow and according to Staff it should be coming back.
-
Yes, it missing from Reader. The blogs I read there, none of them have reblog button.
When are they planning that update ?
-
The reblog feature is not currently being worked on, but making it work and look better is a planned future update. There is not yet a date for when this might happen.
-
Then why somepeople can reblog and I can’t ? Are you saying anyone reading via reader is not seeing reblog option ?

The reblog button in BLOGS I FOLLOW/FOLLOWING in the WPcom Reader is currently missing for everyone.
If you wish to reblog someone’s post, you can click the “Visit Site” link provided at the bottom of the post in the Reader and reblog directly from their site rather than from the Reader.

For the web version, yes.

The button is still currently showing in the Reader in mobile apps but is going to be removed.

The loss of Reblog button is a nuisance because I use it for a lot of posts in Reader that relate to my own in Richards-watch.org
Last Thurs one of these was exactly apposite for following my last post but I was unable to reblog. Then I noticed the button had gone from all Reader posts.
So Jennifer, your tip is very helpful as I’ve been able to do that today.
There is, nevertheless I found a major problem with some WordPress sites which never feature a reblog button and so I copy and paste – with full accreditation.
So I hope this inconsistency will be remedied when the facility gets updated. Is there a problem with its having been abused?
Please could you escalate the update’s priority?
-
I’m sorry but there are other features being worked on first, and there are no plans to escalate reintroducing reblogs in the Reader so it could be a while before that happens. In the mean time, if you haven’t already tried it, you might also like: https://en.support.wordpress.com/press-this/

@rjaybee – Just my 2¢ but if I landed on a site from the Reader where the site owner has turned off the reblog feature, it would be my tendency to honor their wish not to be reblogged even if I am giving full credit to the original poster.
If it were me, I’d probably write my own blog post (which would be the equivalent of the reblog comment) and then link to the post that inspired me (which would be the equivalent of “View Original”) which will, on WordPress.com sites, create an automatic pingback to the original post.
Yes, I know-“fair use” and all that, but, again, that’s just my 2¢ worth.

Thanks ‘Staff’ and Jennifer for your good points which, in fact, I practise but didn’t say so for the sake of brevity. Three sites I follow and often quote know about the issue and are content for me to repost. Like me they may be unaware of their own blog’s reblog option.
So I always do that with an intro and comments for my readers. It’s just like my quoting other authors using a link, and thus pingback, for the sake of not only supporting my points but also of encouraging them to check source material and read widely.
