    Hi there,

I just went and checked out your site, and fgtv.ca is currently up and running for me! I also verified that you’ve entered your MX records correctly for GoDaddy.com’s mail services, so you should be able to receive email as well.

Are you still having these issues? If you made changes within the last couple of hours, you might need to wait a bit longer to allow propagation to complete, but it should start working soon for you!

Nô the problem is for pronaturerimouski.wordpress.com. CAN you give me the process to keep my web site and email up during the transfer.

    Heya!

While I can’t guarantee that your site and email won’t go down at all, we can at least help to ensure that they will be down for as small of a time as possible.

What you will need to do is make sure that your MX records have been entered before you make any nameserver changes at your current registrar. So you will need to get the correct MX records from you mail host. If you’ve got the same mail provider (GoDaddy.com) as your other domain, you can just log in to your other blog and then go to Store >> Domains >> Edit DNS and copy the entries there and then go to the same place in this blog and paste them in. Click “Update DNS” and they’ll be saved and ready to go.

So what that does is ensure that the MX records are ready to be seen on our end. At that point, if your site is all designed how you want it, you can go to your domain registrar and change your nameservers to the following:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Domain propagation can take between 1 and 48 hours, but it should really be on the short side of things. About 1 hour or less. Once that change has been made, your site should be up and your email should still be working.

You’ll just need to follow this help article to make sure that your domain comes up when people come to your site rather than the [blogname].wordpress.com site that is the default right now:

ok so normally the mx should be mail.pronaturerimouski.com?!

  • Unknown's avatar

Your MX records will depend entirely on who you are hosting your mail through. If it is through GoDaddy.com, your MX records will be:

    MX 10 mailstore1.secureserver.net.

    and

    MX 0 smtp.secureserver.net.

but if you’re using other mail services, it could be anything. You will need to contact your mail provider and ask for your complete MX records and any accompanying A records necessary in order to make your email work.

Hey! Thanks! For the pronaturerimouski.com my domain is hosted at Funio (IWEB) this morning I just ask the technician to gave me the MX record and it seems pretty simple. Now I just updated my DNS record at Funio and I got this when I try to look at my website, is this normal?

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Thanks for your help i’m pretty happy to receive some good information like that.

    Heya,

It sounds like your domain was just in the process of getting updated. I’ve checked out your site and it is now coming up for me just fine. It may take a bit longer for you, but if you check back in a couple of hours and you still can’t see your site with us, you may want to try a different browser or try clearing your browser’s cache by following these steps:

Ok, but did you try with http://www.pronaturerimouski.com or http://www.pronaturerimouski.wordpress.com ?

I got the same error message Forbidden

Yes, I did. Both are forwarding me to http://pronaturerimouski.com/ like they are supposed to.

Have you tried a different browser or clearing your browser cache? If so, it could be that the propagation has not completed or that your ISP is caching DNS in which case they would need to be contacted.
