Since yesterday I cannot upload PDF files to my blog.

Since yesterday I cannot upload PDF files to my blog. In the management I also cannot see the PDF names of the files that are already upload. The download woks fine. Any suggestion?

When you say you can’t upload them, does it give you any specific error? As well, you have some PDF’s uploaded already, but do the posts you used them in there have them? Do they give you an error when trying to download them off a post? What is a specific URL of a post with one? In addition, do you still have the space upgrade (can’t remember if PDF’s need it or not…..).

Top ‘o the day to thee. :)
I think there’s a possibility that this thread depicts a similar or related problem so I’m posting the link to it here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=16084@ericpoulin
The maximum size is around 75mb without the space upgrade. http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/09/09/how-big-a-file-can-i-upload/ -
{waving to thesacredpath} Good catch! I sense that another copy and paste is in the offing. ;)

We have not forgotten you. If this problem persists then I suggest that you use the blue “Support” button on the top right hand corner of any admin side blog page and send all your details to staff requesting assistance. This is because only staff have backend access to blogs.
Best wishes for a happy ending. :) -

In the links you provided, http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/09/09/how-big-a-file-can-i-upload/ it lists 75mb as the maximum file size for upload, but without the space upgrade, we are limited to 50mb total, so that wouldn’t seem possible. The 75mb must be “with” the space upgrade.In this FAQ http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/11/upload-space/ it says the maximum upload file size is around 8mb

Here it is sort of all in one place.
When uploading files (not images) to wordpress.com here are some basics worth remembering:
(1) Be sure the file you wish to upload is one of these file types – pdf, doc, ppt.
(2) Do not use anything in the file name except letters and numbers; no spaces, no punctuation no dashes or underscores, or other special characters except for the dot between the file name and the extension. Also make sure the file name has an extension.
(3) The maximum size for a single file upload is around 8mb without the space upgrade. http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/09/09/how-big-a-file-can-i-upload/ With the space upgrade, the maximum single file size you can upload is about 75mb. If you need more storage space, you can see the options in the “upgrades” page in your dashboard. -
@thesacredpath
I have copied and pasted your summary into my files – thanks for preparing it. :) -

Same problem for me
Since yesterday, I cannot upload pdf files, which I currently do each week without any problem since may 2007
Files are around 50K and I currently use 2% of the 50M space.
In addition, thinking it could come from my computer, I tried from another one,and the problem still exist.
It’s not a size problem, it’s not a memory space problem, it”s not a file format problem and it’s not a computer problem…
Did wordpress change it’s software?Thanks for any idea

I am having this problem as well. Previously I successfully uploaded PDFs to a post. Checked them out on the site and they worked just fine. Now those links that I already did and which WERE working just fine the last time I checked won’t work. I now get a message which says “There was an error opening this document. The file cannot be found.” However, when i move my mouse across the link in the post, I can see the doc in the WordPress Snapshots.
In addition, I cannot seem to upload any other PDFs and they aren’t showing up even in ths snapshots. Since i just started the blog last month, i can hardly be out of memory.Teri Rasmussen

@teri
Could you post a link to a post with the PDF that will not display or load?I suspect this is going to require staff intervention to rectify. Contact support Mon-Fri 9am-5pm Pacific time at: http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ , or using the “support” button in the upper right of your dashboard.
Please note that staff does monitor these forums, and there is a chance that one of them will work on it for you tonight.
Just for reference, I’ll post the following:

is my blog called Ohio Practical Business law Counsel.I would wonder about whether I ran afoul of the 8 mb limit except for the fact that these links WERE initially working just fine.
