Singl Theme Comments
-
Hi, my blog is http://abysmalheights.wordpress.com/. I want to put a comment option at the home page. Comments used to be shown earlier (before I used Singl theme). How do I do that ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m not sure what you are asking. Can you be more specific?
Are you asking if you can place a comment area at the bottom of the page? Or are you asking if there can be a “comment” link on each of your posts?

If the home page is also your blog posts page, you can’t have one. Each comments area only shows on the exact post page.

No, not. Its not like that. i have a static home page. Here: http://abysmalheights.wordpress.com/ . I have temporarily added a contact form, but i want a comment box like on this other page: http://abysmalheights.wordpress.com/about-harsh/hi-there/
You’ll see if you scroll down, there is a leave a reply box. -
So, i believe that has to do with the theme you are using. When set as a static front page, Sigl displays not only the page you set as “front page” (your “about” page in this case) but also child pages of that page. Each of those individual pages would have a comment form, but the front page itself doesn’t.

For some reason, what should be the simplest thing has been incredibly difficult for me: publishing pages.
I created two pages, assigned one as the front page, published them, but they are not showing. The only thing showing is the default front page the blog comes with standard.
Also, every time I go back in to see what’s going on, I notice that the page statuses change back to draft — no matter how many times I edit and change to published.
For this reason, also can’t make any changes to the configuration of the pages in Settings – Reading on the Dashboard menu.
This has been incredibly frustrating, please help.

Okay, as best I can tell, singl is not set up to have a comment area on a static front page. It MAY be possible to force one with some custom CSS, but that would take some experimenting. If you want to give that a try, I would suggest making a post on the CSS Customization forum here:

Lots of good advice there and knowledgeable people.
However, it might be easier to either give up on the front page comments or find another theme.
