i have just started my blog… i have uploaded a single image of a pig to sit in the top right hand corner of my page… but the image moves and ends up covering text when i my make my browser window smaller…
is this a internet setting on only my computer? is it a mac thing? or is it a wordpress thing? and is there a solution? any help would be greatly appreciated!

That is because the image is set for right alignment when you set it up as a background which means it is locked to the right top of the browser window and will maintain its relationship to that top corner no matter what you do with the browser window.
If you will notice, then entire center section of your site continuously adjusts its position to stay centered no matter what you do with the browser width until such point as your browser window is narrower than the main wrapper itself.
My suggestion would be to put it into an image widget at the top of your sidebar, or perhaps work up a header image with the pig in it instead. Having it as a “background” is, as you have found out, fraught with problems.
