Single password access to wordpress.com site
-
I’d like to be able to tell people about my site, and let them access it, but only if they have a password. I don’t know who these people are. I’m not looking for serious user-level security, as provided by wordpress.com – I just want a simple way of blocking users outside of those who have a password.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The method you described is possible only on single posts or pages. It’s not possible to lock down the whole site with a single password. If you want, you can publish specific pages or posts with their own password — or the same password on all of them, it’s up to you.
This way, the site will still be visible with the title of the posts, but to read the content of the post/page, viewers will need to enter the password.
You can see how to change the post visibility and add a password to your post in the first screenshot on this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/
Feel free to let me know if there’s anything else you need and I’ll be happy to help.
