single photos vs. gallery view in post
-
Hi,
I’m trying to create a post that features 3 or 4 full size single images, and then I’d like to insert a gallery of the remaining images. My problem is I can get as far as inserting the 3 or 4 full sized pics, but then I don’t know how to insert the gallery without those same 3 or 4 pics being included in the gallery. Since they are already posted there’s no need for them to be there. The problem is when I delete them out of the gallery, it also deletes them out of the media folder. I’ve been told the photos must be in the media folder to appear in the post.
Anyone know a way around this? Any help would be greatly appreciated…thanks!

If you use an alternative image host for the full size images, eg: imageshack or tinypic to obtain image url. and then use upload the remainder of the images on WordPress, then it could work that way.
Not sure. But give it ago

Thanks very much. I was able to get the images where I wanted them. Only problem now is that the images in the gallery aren’t properly spaced in the post. When I click “add gallery” the pictures are overlapped. Do you know of any way to change that so it looks better?

Great, thanks timethief. I figured out I just needed to set less columns so it would be less cramped within the margins.
Thanks for all the amazing support!
