Single Post Background not the Same

  if anyone knows the answer I’d appreciate it, it is probably simple but i’m not a web designer by trade. my blog http://www.usedshoe.com has a blue background, but when i click on a post the background is then white. i thought if my CSS Stylesheet file has the background color i’d be all set but appearantly not. anyone know what i’m missing?

  also, if anyone knows the snippet of code to use an image as your background i’d appreciate it, i tried the normal code i thought would work but it didn’t.
