Sit gone by by.

My ichbinberlinerfoto.wordpress.com site which had a plethora of images on it now has nothing. I was attempting to add text to the opening page, which I did and saved. But when I opened the site again ‘nothing published’ appeared. Trying to edit text on wordpress is a real bullshit experience.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I’m seeing images on your main page, a lot of them, and a lot of Portfolio Projects with images on your Portfolio page.

Are you still not seeing the images?

Can you try clearing your browser cache and then refresh the page?

Actually your Portfolio link in the menu goes to iStock photos. Was that intentional?

Your front page is set up as the Blog (Posts) page, so it shows a listing of your posts starting with the newest at the top.

Were you trying to add a post?

I’m seeing a post added 12 hours ago, and one in draft from 7/3.

I cannot add text to the photos that I have uploaded. The photos show and ‘Olympus Camera’ is the byline. I want to change to text to reflect the photo but cannot find where the text editor is. Why is it so difficult to add/change text? Or get into editing mode once I log on? Confusing Bullshit!!!

And yes I clean my cache regularly. The original site had photos and text and then everything disappeared. Looks like I’ll have to replace the photos one by one and add text (if I can figure out how to do that because I don’t see an ‘edit text’ button anywhere). I’m not a novice as I have taught Illustrator, PhotoShop and inDesign. But WordPress frustrates me to no end. Confusing Bullshit.

Yes the iStock link is intentional and I’d like to link my other WordPress sites to each other which I have done. But the ichbinberliner one is Fucked Up.

It sounds like you wish to add and in some cases, change the caption underneath photos in your posts. To do that:

    1. Click on an existing image in the post editor
    2. Click the pencil icon and you should see the option to add or change a caption
    3. Click Update

Captions can also be updated through the Media Library rather than individual posts — click on the image thumbnails there, then the “Edit” button above.

I have managed to edit text. However, I have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the ‘edit’ tool. How stupid is that? Why not show it at the top of the page? Duh!

Great, glad you were able to edit the text.
