I’m just starting but don’t like the look of the ‘blog’ style as much as the website style of page.. can i change to the website one.. id actually like to have both, is there a way to have both? thank you

You can assign a static page as your homepage or you can use a different theme with special homepage sections.

You sure can. You can create a page called something like “Blog” and set it as your posts page by going to My Site > Customize > Static Front Page.

I try to choose a different theme with different homepage sections but somehow it defaults to a blog or modified version.. how can i get the version i see on the theme page when i choose it? Thank you for your help!!!

What theme are you using?
You can find the theme name by going to My Site > Themes. The current theme name will be listed at the top of the page.

Have you created a page with the Front Page template, and assigned it as a static front page?
You’ll also need to go to My Site > Customize > Widgets and add widgets to the Front Page widget areas.
