Site address
-
I recently changed my site address, though it’ll automatically change the site address on my previous blog posts. But who one of my friends opened one of my blog posts, it said that the previous site has been deleted. And the site address shown on the browser was still my old address. How do I change the site address on my previous posts? Thanks!

I recently changed my site address
I’m sitting here wondering why you did not provide both addresses?
Click this link lifeincanvass
What is (are) the exact URL(s) starting with http:// of the site(s) you refer to please?
I’m asking because we cannot accurately answer questions posted here until we have confirmed the URL referred to and verified the hosting. And, that is why we are all prompted to provide the relevant URL when we create a new thread.

My previous address was http://dontmesswithpink.wordpress.com .. Changed it to http://touristaprincess.wordpress.com .. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the site URLs.

That is the address of the whole site which was deleted.

No address = no help and that’s why I am asking.

Please link your username to your new site. Go to this page https://wordpress.com/me/account and enter it into Primary Site. Then enter the Web Address. Lastly, click “Save account settings”.

That is just one example. I have a lot of blogposts that cannot be opened when searched coz it’s still linked to my http://dontmesswithpink.wordpress.com . How can I have those blog posts site addresses changed to http://touristaprincess.wordpress.com? Thanks!
-
True what you said. It already has my primary site with my username on it, saved settings. Then I tried searching on one of my blog posts, it still says the same thing. DONTMESSWITHPINK.WORDPRESS.COM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THE AUTHORS HAVE DELETED THIS SITE.

That’s the downside of changing .wordpress.com URLs. All your embedded URLs to earlier posts are now broken links. As a sire redirect upgrade may not update the embedded links, I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Please do not SHOUT! by typing in all capital letters. I’m visually challenged and that just makes the text hard to read. It’s the weekend and most Staff are probably with their families so you will have to wait patiently for Staff help with both issues.

I’m not shouting at you, not even using exclamation points here. Capitalized all letter to give it emphasis. I know it’s weekend since I’m enjoying my weekend off too. I’m being patient, no rush. I’m just seeking help/assistance. I know everything takes time.

I’m afraid you were mistaken as to how the blog name change tool works. It just changes the name, it does not redirect from the old site to the new. You need the Site Redirect upgrade for that.
From https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/:
The final option on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.
