  i inadvertently created a site named blackhillsciderworks.wordpress.com and blackhillsciderworks.com.wordpress.com. I don’t want either of these, we have a name blackhillsciderworks.com that is registered. I want to delete the two sites with wordpress in the name and have blackhillsciderworks.com

  Hi there.

  You can delete sites by:

  1. Visit your site’s settings page by clicking on My Site (s) → Manage → Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page, and select Delete your site permanently

  I found this and have deleted one of the sites. I don’t understand what I am doing wrong to keep having wordpress added to the domain name

  I see that the domain blackhillsciderworks.com is registered through GoDaddy. Do you own that domain name?

  If you own the domain and you want to host your site here on WordPress.com, you can either transfer the domain or map it. You can find more information here:

  If you want to use the WordPress software and host your site with GoDaddy or some other host, then you need to contact them so they can help you out with the setup process.
