Site address unavailable

I wanted to change my site address to “qitaabee.wordpress.com” but instead created another site on the same account. I deleted that site and am trying to change the site address now but it says the site address is unavailable.
I went through the forum replies and found an answer saying that it blocks the site address when it’s deleted.
Wondering if there’s any way to get it unblocked as I use “qitaabee” elsewhere as well.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there:

We note that when you delete your site, deleting a site permanently removes it, and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address.

But since it was deleted within our 30-day window, we can recover that for you – which I just did! :)

You should be all set now!

    Thanks!
But actually, I wanted to change my current site address: “bibliophilebabeblog.wordpress.com” to “qitaabee.wordpress.com”
That’s the reason I deleted that site I accidentally created instead of changing my site address like I wanted to, in the first place.
Is there a way to change it?

  • You can only change the address to one that does not yet exist. But, you can move your content over if you’d like. Here’s what I would do:

    – Export from bibliophilebabeblog.wordpress.com

    – Import into qitaabee.wordpress.com

    – Adjust qitaabee.wordpress.com’s theme and customizations to your liking

    – If you want stats and/or subscribers moved to the new site, let us know here

    – Finally (optional!) you can redirect the old address to the new one. That way any search engine or social media links that go to the old site will be redirected to the new one: https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/

Let us know if you need help!
