Site Address ‘Used’ but site is deleted

  I’d really like to use ‘LaterAllieGator’ for my site address, but it says that address is already taken. However, when I try to visit
  Lateralliegator.wordpress.com
  The page says that the site has been deleted.

  Any insight? If it isn’t possible to use, I understand. But I’d really like to use that name if possible.

  lateralliegator.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.

  Did you delete that site? If you deleted it less than 30 days ago staff can recover it to your account. If it wasn’t you that deleted it then that address has gone forever.
  PS: You could always upgrade to a paid plan and use that address with a different suffix.
