Site address won't work

The site address that I typed in (mcdonaldmethodist.org) isn’t bringing up our website. According to what it says when I am logged in it is: mcdonaldmethodistdotorg.wordpress.com
Not sure why it is different because no one made any changes to anything.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To clarify, do you own https://mcdonaldmethodistdotorg.wordpress.com/ and mcdonaldmethodist.org?
Are you trying to redirect your WordPress.com site from https://mcdonaldmethodistdotorg.wordpress.com/ to mcdonaldmethodist.org?

It seems mcdonaldmethodist.org redirects to mcdonaldmethodist.wordpress.com which doesn’t exist.

@staartmees – mcdonaldmethodist.org was our original website address and mcdonaldmethodistdotorg.wordpress.com (with the “dot” being spelled out before the “org”) is now what is coming up when I look at the website.
@strikebuys – I am assuming that we own this website, but I am not the person that started the site originally. And yes I want to change the site name back to mcdonaldmethodist.org as that was our website address before I noticed this change. Just wanted to check to see that if I use the option to do that on WordPress. I don’t know anything about building websites. :)
