'Site already exists'
-
While trying to write my first post, I keep encountering a block that says my site already exists. It does indeed, as I registered it earlier today, but WordPress will not allow me to use it. Can you help? I’d love to get this going, and not have to try another platform.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I now see that WordPress says “The authors have deleted this site.” How can I get it back – I don’t remember ever deleting it. Is there a certain amount of time that must elapse before it is available again for use, or its the name gone forever now?
-
Blog names /URL’s never expire – no requirement to use the blog or put current content on it – but once deleted the name is gone forever even from the original owner – blog names are never recycled at WordPress.COM

Unfortunately,
Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).

Darn, especially since it looks like I deleted it by accident! Thanks for your yelp, @auxclass and @kristinavanhoos

You can always create another site and your site does not have to be identical to your username to work either. :)
To help other volunteers, it’d be helpful if you mark this as resolved so others do not check back here.
