Site associated with two email accounts – how to disconnect from one and associate with other?
-
Hi. I created a site with a WordPress account under my personal address and ultimately transitioned the site to a managed WordPress site at GoDaddy, under my work email address. So, while the site appears under my personal email account, wpadmin is accessed via my work address (although the site does not appear under my work WordPress account). I’d like to remove it from my personal account and associate with my work WP account – how do I do that? Thanks.

Hi there,
It appears that you’re using a self-hosted installation of the open source WordPress software at another hosting company (GoDaddy). Please keep in mind, these forums here at WordPress.COM are for WordPress websites hosted and managed at WordPress.COM
In other words, when you visit the Dashboard at WordPress.COM, the site in question is not listed; hence, the support does not belong here:
https://dashboard.wordpress.comTo get help with your issues, you need to post your question at the WordPress.ORG support forum or to your hosting provider.
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/You can learn more about the differences between .COM vs .ORG here:

Thank you. I think I get the difference. Follow-up question: If I delete my .COM account, this should not affect the .ORG GoDaddy-hosted site, right?

Hi there, It looks like your GoDaddy site has the Jetpack plugin installed and it’s connected with this WordPress.com account you’re posting from.
You do need to have a WordPress.com account to use Jetpack. You can learn more at this link https://jetpack.com/2018/04/12/why-wordpress-account-jetpack/

Thanks. I’m still trying to understand, though, if I can delete my .com account without bringing down the .org site at GoDaddy. Sounds like you’re saying that i can delete my account but it would cause the GoDaddy site to lose Jetpack support?

Actually, I’ve figured it out (thanks to your direction re: Jetpack). I’ve disconnected Jetpack and reconnected it to my work account. The site no longer shows up on my personal account. That’s what I was trying to accomplish. Thank you!
