Site backup
-
Dear Knowledgeable Folks,
Our website was prepared using WordPress and the company which created it has now gone it receivership. We are currently still being hosted but this must be for a limited time (I have no idea, but am assuming that payments will expire at the end of the month).
How do i backup the entirety of our site so i can upload it to a new hosting facility? I have tried Googling for an answer and looking at the forums, but the advice assumes I know WordPress which I don’t and that it’s the database being backed up. Essential it reads like I’m backing up part of the site not the whole of it.
I am reasonably computer literate and am happy to use Filezilla for example, but I’ve never had call to attempt to create a site, only to wrestle with Cpanel for content management.
Many thanks in advance for your help.Jeff

Hi Jeff.
You are in the wrong place. These forums are only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.comWordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
And you should ask in the WordPress.org forums.

and my apologies for the blog URL – i didn’t know it would do that or I’d have stipulated the web address .. it seems i have to make an account to make a website rather than just create a presence, in order to ask for help
kind regards Jeff
